About this deal

According to a prophecy, the earth will be in devastation at the beginning of the new millennium. Embark on an adventure where no game has gone before. Overall this game has some amazing ideas and truly succeeds in bringing the Tomb Raider experience to the GBA. However the game does not succeed in keeping the player's attention or making the game portable friendly and even while the exploration is fun the combat side is very boring. A flashing 'Select' icon on-screen tells when to look in the inventory for a specific item. (For details, see Inventory, below.)

Apart from beautiful environments, Legend featured the right balance of action and puzzles. However, the puzzles weren’t as challenging as those in some of the earlier games, and the combat could get stale and started feeling very simplistic after a while. The Prophecy is the first game for the Gameboy Advance, and the third game for the Gameboy in general. Realistic graphics: the player will find himself immersed in huge realistic environments with graphics of exceptional quality on this console.

There are numerous occasions when you'll have to scale multiple platforms upward just to progress to the left or right. If there's any complaint to make about the graphics, it's that the environments don't exhibit as much detail or animation as the characters, and that the enemies tend to repeat more often than you'd like. All of the above pros help to not only make the game stand out on GBA but also to bring the Tomb Raider experience to the handheld. The game was developed by Eidos Montreal, though you probably wouldn’t have guessed it, as the gameplay remains more or less the same as the previous two titles. It features an exciting mix of action and exploration, and it even places a greater emphasis on puzzles.The greatest thing about Tomb Raider: The Prophecy is that it captures the same scope and spirit of exploration that made the early Tomb Raider games so enjoyable. As Lara, you'll travel to 28 different levels spread throughout three humongous tombs. Your goal is to collect the three magical stones that will help you fulfill the prophecy of Ezekiel. To get to those stones, however, you will have to scale mountainous platforms, leap across bottomless chasms, and fight scores of magical enemies. Along the way, there are dozens of riddles and puzzles to solve, and solving them will provide you with items that can be used to solve even more puzzles and riddles. In the version we've been playing, Lara only really encounters wolves as the bad guys during the adventure. In the arctic, they're arctic wolves. In the jungle, they're gray wolves. Hopefully as the game progresses in development the team will add variety to the enemies. After the poor reception of The Angel of Darkness, the Tomb Raider IP was handed over to a new developer, Crystal Dynamics. As expected, the new team had a fresh perspective, and they delivered a game that successfully breathed new life into the franchise. We’re talking about Tomb Raider: Legend.
