About this deal

I like this method because it acts as a safeguard from masochistic players that want to create the impossible. Presented from a third-person perspective, the gameplay centers around completing set objectives within a series of levels. Predict enemy patrols, identify escape routes, temporarily enhance your disguise - and focus your “Point-Shooting” abilities to unleash a barrage of insanely accurate shots. On the plus side this game is visually stunning and there are some new features such as crowd dynamics that really work, however the linearity of the game and missions spoiled it for me.

Take on the role of Agent 47 and his many extraordinary talents, then ask: what kind of Hitman are you? A male voice is your handler for this mission, you are sent to infiltrate a high-security residence and kill the occupant and appropriate something quite precious while you’re there. This would be a good place to mention that in previous games I always had difficulty with using knives and such on targets, instead of using a silenced silverballer from a distance), however the game mechanic is really cool when you throw a knife or other object - you'll really enjoy this! The Zenith pistol was the handgun of choice for Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and can now be used by Agent 47 in Hitman Absolution.

Previous Hitman games revolved around a relatively small number of large sandbox levels, with one or more targets to assassinate. However, the latest successor, Hitman: Absolution, has finally been released, and in the end, after all the speculation, I will gladly say it's very much a solid Hitman game in the vein of Contracts and Blood Money. The game is not only fun to play and leaves you wanting more, it has challenges to be done for each level, which seems to be part of the side-quest extravaganza for this year’s games. In each installment, players assume the role of a cloned contract killer named Agent 47, who travels around the world to assassinate various targets that are assigned to him by the fictional International Contract Agency (ICA). Unfortunately, the controls are needlessly fussy: the right bumper activates Instinct Mode, X enters Point Shooting, the left trigger zooms in, the right trigger marks enemies, then it's X again to take the shots.

These disguises are integral to remaining undetected throughout the mission and award the player with a "Silent Assassin" mission rating.

The weapons are varied and initially I was disappointed that I had to make do with only specific weapons for some missions (but online reviews which are numerous explain better why this is so, and you do understand why you can't always use your favourite silenced weapon for some missions). Hitman: Absolution is a stealth game in which the player assumes the role of a hitman named Agent 47. Certain plot details for the game were rumored in 2009, stating that the game's story would lead Agent 47 to a low point from which he would have to rebuild himself. The first sequel in the series, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, was developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, and Xbox in October 2002, and GameCube in June 2003.

It's limited in options, as you have to use the game's actual missions with all the scripted events intact, and you can only have up to three main targets, but what can be done is still fun. However, many critics and many long time fans of the series disliked the game for its linear structure, as opposed to the open ended nature of previous installments. Now, when playing the beginning missions on my first playthrough, I wasn't too keen on some changes and omissions, like the exclusion of maps for a radar, and getting rid of saving for checkpoints. I'm not gonna lie, waiting this long had me super worried, and Square Enix's acquisition of the studio through Eidos didn't calm fears.
