This then shows key information on the screen, when using the app. You can see via clear visuals, where you are brushing, what areas you have brushed, areas you should focus on more.

Sadly, it is not possible for me to do this prior to writing a review. But, I have been hands-on with it and used it as my daily toothbrush for a few weeks prior to writing this.As a result, the actual number of brushing sessions you might get from the brush handle will depend on what cleaning mode and intensity level used. There are several ProtectiveClean brushes, but all have similar specifications. Unlike the DiamondClean, toothbrushes in the ProtectiveClean range have a pressure sensor, and will warn you if you're applying too much force when you brush. This is great for anyone who tends to be a bit heavy-handed, and has been warned that they're at risk of damaging their enamel.

Philips Sonicare ExpertClean 7700 is the newest ExpertClean model. It is basically the Sonicare 7500 Experclean with a bundled UV sterilizer. When it comes to Oral-B versus Sonicare this model wins out with colour options, app connectivity and the visual SmartRing technology. However, the Oral-B Genius X doesn't include the 3 intensity settings, mode-pairing, and the brush head replacement reminder. A Genius X kit includes: Finally, the Sonicare 7900 also promises to whiten your teeth after using it consistently for just one week. Although we haven’t tested this theory exactly, one of the Best Buys editors is a Sonicare owner who's noticed that her teeth appear whiter than they did when using her old brush. They may not actually be whiter, but she reports her teeth feel cleaner between brushes resulting in a more confident smile. With the ExpertClean 7300 that I am reviewing here comes a premium travel case. Unlike most travel cases, this one allows the brush to be charged inside it.

There is a pressure sensors in both the 7300 and 7500 to help you avert exerting excessive pressure when brushing. They all have a timer to let you know when you’ve brushed for 2 minutes as recommended by tooth professionals.

Now is as good as time as any to point out that, whilst this is not a direct comparison to the DiamondClean Smart from Sonicare, I will inevitably make a comparison, as the ExpertClean is essentially a detuned (cheaper) version of it. A point to note is the brush will make an audible beep when placed on the charging stand to confirm it is charging. This is another small, but subtle example of where Sonicare really build in quality touches to their products. Let me explain in more detail about some of the technology and cleaning capability of this toothbrush then. Philips Sonicare 9000 Diamondclean is mainly sold in pairs (you get two brush heads and two C3 brush heads) while Sonicare 7900 offers one handle but four whitening brush heads.A brush head without the RFID chip still functions, but there will be no mode pairing or brush head replacement reminders. The ExpertClean has Bluetooth built-in. This means it can communicate with the Sonicare smartphone application to log valuable data. It is very common for brush heads not to be replaced that frequently. Whilst using a brush head for 4-5 months isn’t the worst thing, replacing it sooner will be better generally speaking. This notification system offers a reminder that many need or don’t get with other toothbrushes.
